Naidex, the National Accessibility, Inclusion and Disability Expo, returns to the NEC Birmingham on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 March 2027, open 09:30 to 16:30 on the first day and 09:30 to 16:00 on the second. Running for more than 50 years, it is the UK's leading event for disability, accessibility and independent living, and it brings together disabled people, families, carers, care and rehab professionals and manufacturers. Alongside the main show sit Naidex Junior for children and young people, Business Without Barriers for inclusive employers, Care & Dementia and Neuro Rehab, with features such as the Mobility Test Track, an adaptive climbing wall and the Village Green. Entry is free for everyone, and carers and personal assistants need their own free ticket. The NEC is outside the city, next to Birmingham International station and Birmingham Airport, so the choice for Naidex hotels is between the hotels on the NEC campus and a base in central Birmingham, Solihull or Coventry with a short train ride in. This page shows live rates near the NEC for your dates; your Naidex ticket comes from the organiser and is separate from your hotel booking.

From Birmingham Airport (BHX)

  • The free Air-Rail Link runs from the upper level of Terminal 1 to Birmingham International station; the NEC says it runs every two minutes and takes 90 seconds
  • From Birmingham International, the organiser says a covered walkway known as the Bridgelink gives step-free access into the NEC
  • The NEC says over 120 National Express and Megabus coach services a day run to Birmingham Airport from across the UK
  • Visitors flying into London or Manchester can continue by train to Birmingham International or Birmingham New Street

By rail and road

  • Birmingham International is a five minute walk from the NEC according to the venue, with direct trains from London on London Northwestern Railway among others; if your train does not stop there, change at Birmingham New Street
  • By car, the NEC is signposted from the M42, M40 and M6; the postcode B40 1NT takes you to the site, not to your car park, so follow the event signs once on site
  • The NEC says pre-booking parking saves £5 on the standard rate if booked before midnight the day before, and event parking usually opens for booking 6 to 8 weeks ahead
  • Blue Badge parking was free for Naidex visitors in 2026, using codes sent after registration or a QR code validated on site; check the organiser's accessibility page for 2027

How do you get around during Naidex?

Getting to the NEC each day

  • The NEC says the Hilton, Crowne Plaza and Genting hotels on its campus are a short walk from the halls
  • From central Birmingham, Solihull or Coventry, take the train to Birmingham International and use the Bridgelink into the NEC
  • Blue Badge holders can be dropped off and picked up at the main entrances, even by taxi; the organiser suggests telling your taxi firm in advance if you need an accessible pick-up
  • TOA black cabs wait at ranks outside the NEC's main entrances, and Veezu is the venue's official private hire partner

Around the venue

  • The NEC hires out wheelchairs and mobility scooters on a first come, first served basis; the organiser says booking usually opens about three months before the event and stock is limited
  • There is step-free access throughout the NEC, accessible toilets across the site and a Changing Places toilet with a hoist, according to the organiser
  • A Quiet Space is available for anyone who needs a break from the show floor, and assistance dogs are welcome with a dedicated rest area
  • You can leave and re-enter the show during opening hours, and seating is spread through the venue

Do you need a visa for Naidex?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • British and Irish passport holders do not need an ETA or a visa
  • Most visitors who do not need a visa, including those from Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia, need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel
  • An ETA costs £20 and lets you visit the UK for up to six months; apply only through GOV.UK or the official UK ETA app
  • Each person travelling needs their own ETA, including babies and children

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals who are not eligible for an ETA need a Standard Visitor visa to attend Naidex; check your nationality on GOV.UK
  • A Standard Visitor visa costs £135 for up to six months, and the earliest you can apply is three months before you travel
  • The organiser does not issue visa invitation letters and says your registration confirmation email should be enough for a visa application

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for your whole stay, the same one you used for your ETA or visa
  • Your Naidex registration email with its QR code, and your hotel booking
  • If you are visiting on business, a letter from your employer setting out the purpose of the trip

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements on GOV.UK before you book.

First time at Naidex?

  • Naidex is free; register on the organiser's site and you will get a confirmation email with a QR code that is scanned on site to print your badge
  • Carers and personal assistants need their own free ticket, which you can add after registering yourself or arrange at the desk on the day
  • Children under 16 are welcome with an adult and do not need to register, but collect a child entry pass at the registration desk on arrival; students are welcome too
  • Seminars are free, last about 30 minutes and run first come, first served with no booking; health and care professionals can claim CPD for the sessions they attend
  • Many exhibitors sell mobility equipment and daily living aids at the show, so bring a card if you plan to buy

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • Try scooters and powerchairs on the Mobility Test Track before you buy: it has off-road surfaces, ramps and obstacles to compare handling and comfort
  • If you need a wheelchair or scooter at the venue, book the NEC's hire early; pre-booked equipment is held only until 13:00 on the booked day
  • In 2026 the main show was in Hall 20, with Care & Dementia and Neuro Rehab in Hall 6; check the 2027 floorplan before choosing a car park or entrance
