Subsea Expo, the exhibition and conference for the underwater sectors run by Global Underwater Hub, returns to P&J Live in Aberdeen on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 March 2027. Over two days it brings together operators, developers, Tier 1 contractors, the supply chain and emerging technology companies across offshore energy, defence and the wider blue economy, under the 2027 theme Bridging the Gap. The exhibition is free to attend, the conference in the new Blue Horizons Theatre needs a Conference Pass and is capped at 500 delegates, and the Subsea Expo Awards dinner is on the evening of 10 March. The organiser reports 3,000 visitors and more than 50 exhibiting companies in 2026. How do you get to Subsea Expo?
From Aberdeen International Airport (ABZ)
- P&J Live is 1.5 miles from the airport; the venue puts it at about a 15 minute walk along the paths around the complex, and the organiser says 15 to 30 minutes depending on your pace
- The organiser says the airport has 22 flights a day from London and more than 40 connections worldwide
- Stagecoach's 727 runs between Aberdeen city centre and the airport and stops on the TECA site, according to P&J Live
- There is a taxi pick-up and drop-off point on the P&J Live site, next to the Hilton, with a taxi rank during major events
By rail and road
- Dyce station is 1.5 miles from P&J Live, on the Aberdeen to Inverness line, with trains at least once an hour from Monday to Saturday, according to the venue
- Aberdeen station in the city centre is a ten minute train ride from Dyce and has ScotRail sleeper trains to London Euston and LNER trains to Edinburgh and London King's Cross
- By car, the venue is about 6 miles north-west of the city centre off the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road, close to the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route; enter via Dyce Drive, or the A96 if heading south, as other entrances are bus gates only
- The organiser notes that many road signs still call the venue the AECC; they still lead to P&J Live
How do you get around during Subsea Expo?
Getting to P&J Live each day
- The Hilton Aberdeen and the Aloft Aberdeen stand on the P&J Live site, the closest beds to the halls
- Hotels in Dyce and around the airport are close by, but check each hotel's distance on the map: the venue publishes walking times only from the airport and Dyce station
- From the city centre, take the 727 bus, which stops on the TECA site, or the train to Dyce
- The organiser lists park and ride sites on routes into the city; check which ones run during Subsea Expo before you rely on them
Parking, payments and evenings
- P&J Live has about 2,200 parking spaces and urges visitors to use public transport where they can; exhibitors get free parking details from Global Underwater Hub by email
- P&J Live is cashless, with card payments at its bars, kiosks and restaurants and no cash machines on the TECA site
- Union Square, next to Aberdeen station, and the wider city centre give you the most choice of restaurants for evening meetings
- The Subsea Expo Awards dinner is on 10 March 2027, so book that night early if you are going
Do you need a visa for Subsea Expo?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- British and Irish passport holders do not need an ETA or a visa
- Most visitors who do not need a visa, including those from Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia, need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel
- An ETA costs £20 and lets you visit the UK for up to six months; apply through GOV.UK, as other websites may charge more
- Each person travelling needs their own ETA
eVisa / visa required
- Nationals who are not eligible for an ETA need a Standard Visitor visa to attend Subsea Expo; check your nationality on GOV.UK
- A Standard Visitor visa costs £135 for up to six months, and the earliest you can apply is three months before you travel
- GOV.UK allows business visitors to attend trade fairs to promote their business, but you cannot sell things
- Apply early if you need a visa: the show is in early March, so start your application as soon as your plans are set
