It sits beside its sibling Barnbougle Dunes on Tasmania's north-east coast, and most golfers play both courses over a multi-day stay. About Barnbougle Lost Farm
Barnbougle Lost Farm opened in 2010 as the sibling to the acclaimed Barnbougle Dunes, and quickly earned its own place among the world's finest modern links. Bill Coore of Coore & Crenshaw routed a distinctive 20-hole course through massive coastal dunes above Anderson Bay, keeping two 'bonus' holes because the land was simply too good to waste. It is entirely public and pay-and-play: no membership, no handicap, just a booking. Firm turf, big dunes and constant sea breeze make it a thrilling, walkable test that pairs perfectly with the neighbouring Dunes and the Bougle Run short course. For travelling golfers it is one of the great value bucket-list experiences in the Southern Hemisphere.
Signature hole
Lost Farm has a celebrated 20-hole routing: Coore kept the extra 13A because it was 'too good to leave out', while 18A is a bonus decider for matches left all square. The clifftop holes above Anderson Bay and the dune-framed short par 3s are the visual signatures.
