About Royal Adelaide Golf Club
Royal Adelaide Golf Club, laid out across the sandy scrubland of Seaton since 1906, is one of Australia's most historic championship courses and was substantially redesigned by Dr Alister MacKenzie in the mid-1920s. The routing tumbles through genuine dunes and native scrub, blending links firmness with sandbelt bunkering, and famously runs the Grange railway line straight through the middle of the property. It has hosted the Australian Open nine times, most recently in 1998, and remains a stern, walking man's test. While a members' club at heart, it opens its fairways to visiting club golfers on weekdays, making a MacKenzie masterpiece attainable for the well-planned traveller.
