About Estadio de la Cerámica
Estadio de la Cerámica (still widely called El Madrigal) is an intimate 23,000-seat ground where nearly every seat is close to the action. The Tribuna on the west side is the main stand — dugouts, players' tunnel and the air-conditioned executive boxes — with the two-tier Preferencia (the east side, also labelled Grada Este) facing it and offering the best-value side-on views. Behind the south goal, the single-tier Fondo Sur Cubierto is the home end where the peñas and the Grada de Animación bring the drums, flags and Yellow Submarine choreographies. The eye-catching Fondo Norte behind the north goal rises over two tiers, its enormous upper 'balcony' amphitheatre reserved for visiting supporters on big Category A and European nights. Sightlines are honest and near-continuous now the bowl is roofed; the only real compromises are the very high, set-back rows of that Fondo Norte upper deck and the flat front rows directly behind each goal.
A compact, steep single-bowl ground of four close-set stands wrapped in a continuous roof after the 2022-2023 centenary remodel, so the crowd sits right on top of the pitch. It keeps an old-school 'English style' feel — separate stands of differing heights rather than a smooth ring — dominated by the towering two-tier Fondo Norte with its huge upper balcony.

Seats to avoid & obstructed views
Fondo Norte upper amphitheatre (away/upper balcony): Spectacular but very high and set well back — the furthest, steepest seats from the pitch in the ground.
Front rows of Fondo Sur / Fondo Norte, directly behind the goals: Flat, low angle with the far end foreshortened; play at the opposite goal is hard to read.
Corner seats where the ends meet the sides: Oblique viewing angle with part of the nearest corner and touchline lost.
Sunlit flank on early-season afternoon kick-offs: One side catches strong Mediterranean sun; glare and heat until the shadow line crosses the pitch.

Transport
Vila-real sits on the Valencia-Castelló corridor. The easiest arrival is the Renfe Cercanías/Rodalia line C-6 from Valencia (roughly one hour) to Vila-real station, then a 15-20 minute walk through residential streets to the ground; regional buses also run. Valencia (Manises) airport is about 65 km away, so most fans drive or take the train up. There is no large stadium car park — parking is on-street in the surrounding neighbourhood, a short walk out.
The area
The stadium is embedded in a quiet residential district of Vila-real, a town of around 50,000 in Castellón province, roughly 1.5 km from the central Plaza Major with its tapas bars and the club shop on Calle Blasco Ibáñez. It is a genuine town-centre ground rather than an out-of-town bowl, about 10 km inland from the Mediterranean.
