Where should you sit at Little Caesars Arena?

The best seats at Little Caesars Arena are 100 level sidelines 106 to 112 and 119 to 125 for the view. For value, choose 200 level sidelines 209 to 214 and 224 to 229. Avoid 101 to 104 and nearby 200 level sections at end stage concerts. Little Caesars Arena seats 20,332, home of Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons and PWHL Detroit.

Overview

About Little Caesars Arena

Little Caesars Arena is home to the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons, with a seating capacity of 19,515 for ice hockey and 20,332 for basketball. The Little Caesars Arena seating chart has the 100 level (sections 101 to 126) in the lower bowl, a ring of small Mezzanine sections (M1 to M34), the 200 level upper bowl (201 to 232) and, above the west side, the Michigan First Gondola boxes (G1 to G31). The Blue Cross Suites sit between the lower and upper bowls. For Red Wings and Pistons games the best views are from the 100 level sidelines, while the 200 level sidelines are the best value. For concerts the Red Wings arena map marks the stage at the Sproat Street end in front of sections 101 to 104, so the Henry Street end faces it head on.

Designed by HOK and opened in September 2017, Little Caesars Arena has a 'deconstructed' layout: shops, restaurants and team offices sit in separate buildings round the bowl, joined to it by a glass roofed indoor street that serves as the concourse. The bowl sits about 40 feet below street level, so fans walk in at street level and look down to the ice or court, and a row of gondola boxes hangs from the top of the bowl on the west side.

Sections

What are the seating levels at Little Caesars Arena?

100 Level101-126

The lower bowl, reached from the Street Level Concourse through portals 1 to 20. Sections 106 to 112 run along the Woodward Avenue side and 119 to 125 along the Cass Avenue side, with 101 to 104 at the Sproat Street end and 114 to 117 at the Henry Street end.

Pros: Closest seats to the ice or court and the stage; entered straight off the street level concourse.

Cons: The most expensive general seats; end sections look down the length of the playing surface.

Mezzanine (M sections)M1-M34

A ring of small sections at the front of the upper concourse, shown as M1 to M34 on the official 313 Presents seating map, with M7 to M15 and M24 to M32 along the two sidelines.

Pros: Smaller sections with a raised view just above the suites.

Cons: Fewer seats per section, so tickets can be harder to find.

Blue Cross Suites

Lettered suites A to Q are off the Street Level Concourse on the east and west sides, and numbered suites 1 to 48 are reached by the north west, north east and south west elevators and stairs.

Pros: Private space with catering for groups.

Cons: Sold as suites rather than single seats.

200 Level201-232

The upper bowl, reached from the Upper Concourse through portals 21 to 72. The sidelines are 209 to 214 (Woodward Avenue side, below the press box) and 224 to 229 (Cass Avenue side, below the gondolas).

Pros: The cheapest seats in the arena, with a full view of the ice, court or stage.

Cons: High up, especially in the back rows of the end sections.

Michigan First GondolasG1-G31

Semi-private boxes hung from the top of the bowl on the west side, reached through portals 78 to 82. 313 Presents does not recommend gondola seats for guests with a fear of heights.

Pros: A unique high view straight down onto the action, with premium access.

Cons: The highest seats in the building.

Seat views

Little Caesars Arena view from your seat

100 level sidelines

106 to 112 (Woodward Avenue side), 119 to 125 (Cass Avenue side)

The classic side view of the ice or court, close enough to feel the speed of the game. Section 109 and section 122 are at the centre of each side on the official seat map.

Tip: Sections 109 and 122 are the centre of each side, so start there and work outwards.

100 level ends

101 to 104 (Sproat Street end), 114 to 117 (Henry Street end)

End on views from behind a goal or basket. For concerts the stage is marked in front of 101 to 104, so 114 to 117 face it head on.

Tip: Check whether your concert tickets for 101 to 104 are behind the stage before buying.

100 level corners

105, 113, 118 and 126

Angled views across the playing surface from the four corners.

Tip: A good compromise on price between the sidelines and the ends.

Mezzanine

M1 to M34

A raised view from small sections between the lower and upper bowls. The sideline M sections (M7 to M15 and M24 to M32) look straight across the playing surface.

Tip: Mezzanine seats are sold in small sections, so book early for larger groups.

200 level sidelines

209 to 214 and 224 to 229

A high, centred view of the whole playing surface. The west side sections 224 to 229 sit below the gondola boxes and the east side 209 to 214 below the press box.

Tip: The best value full view seats for Red Wings and Pistons games.

200 level ends

201 to 208 and 230 to 232 (Sproat Street end and corners), 215 to 223 (Henry Street end and corners)

The furthest seats from the action, high up and end on. For a Sproat Street end stage, 217 to 220 face it straight on.

Tip: Good for concerts on a budget if you pick the Henry Street end.

Michigan First Gondolas

G1 to G31

Boxes hung from the top of the west side of the bowl, looking straight down onto the ice or court.

Tip: Not recommended by the arena for anyone with a fear of heights.

Seat numbers

How do Little Caesars Arena seat numbers work?

Little Caesars Arena uses numbers for the two bowls and letters for the special areas. 101 to 126 is the 100 level (lower bowl), 201 to 232 is the 200 level (upper bowl), M1 to M34 are the Mezzanine sections between them and G1 to G31 are the Michigan First Gondolas at the top of the west side. Lower bowl numbers start at the Sproat Street end (101 to 104), run down the Woodward Avenue side (106 to 112), round the Henry Street end (114 to 117) and back up the Cass Avenue side (119 to 125). Portals help you find your seat: portals 1 to 20 are on the street level concourse, 21 to 72 on the upper concourse, 73 to 77 in the Labatt Blue Club and 78 to 82 in the gondolas, and each portal usually leads to two sections, one either side. Your ticket shows the section, row and seat.

Reading a ticket: Section 227: the 2 means the 200 level upper bowl, reached from the Upper Concourse. Section 227 is on the Cass Avenue (west) sideline, below the Michigan First Gondolas.

Concerts

Little Caesars Arena floor plan for concerts

The Red Wings arena map marks the concert stage position at the Sproat Street end of the arena, in front of 100 level sections 101 to 104, with the floor in front of it and the bowl wrapping the other three sides. 313 Presents says seating maps vary per event, so always check the Ticketmaster map for your show.

The floor: The floor is used for standing or seating depending on the show. For most concerts, family shows and Pistons games, accessible floor seating is reached by the south east elevators between Mike's Pizza Bar and The Mixing Board, across from portal 9.

The stage: With the stage at the Sproat Street end, the Henry Street end (114 to 117 and 217 to 220) faces it head on, and the sideline sections give an angled view.

Jack Daniel's Club No. 7 sells premium club seats for concerts and comedy shows, with all inclusive food and drink.
