Where to stay for SIAL Paris 2026: the closest hotels to Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre are in Roissy / CDG area and Le Bourget, with Central Paris (Gare du Nord) a short ride away. SIAL Paris returns to the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre from 17 to 21 October 2026, and it remains the food industry's largest global gathering: around 285,000 buyers, retailers, importers, chefs and food-tech scouts working through more than 7,000 exhibitors from over 100 countries. This is a working show rather than a spectacle — supermarket category managers hunting private-label suppliers, export directors closing distribution deals, and product developers scanning the SIAL Innovation zone for next year's shelf trends. The venue sits about 25 km north-east of central Paris beside Charles de Gaulle airport, which concentrates demand ferociously: the modest stock of hotels around Roissy, Villepinte and Le Bourget is claimed months in advance, and anything near an RER B station in the city follows soon after. The rates on this page are live and bookable, so you can compare real availability near the venue instead of guessing.

Popular areas for attendees: Roissy / CDG area · Le Bourget · Central Paris (Gare du Nord).

Paris Expo Porte de Versailles sits in the 15th arrondissement, with plenty of honest bistros within walking distance and the Villepinte fairground reachable by RER B to the north. Reserve dinner tables; many good kitchens serve only one seating.

Getting there

From CDG (Paris Charles de Gaulle)

  • RER B runs from both airport terminals to Parc des Expositions station, two stops and roughly 10 minutes; the station is directly opposite the exhibition centre entrance
  • A taxi from CDG takes 15-20 minutes off-peak; the trip is metered (the fixed city fares of 56-65 euros only apply to central Paris, not Villepinte)
  • Check the platform boards before boarding the RER B — some airport services run express and skip Parc des Expositions
  • Uber and Bolt operate freely at CDG, but during SIAL mornings the RER is usually faster than the airport pickup queues

From central Paris and Gare du Nord

  • RER B northbound from Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles or Denfert-Rochereau reaches Parc des Expositions in about 25-30 minutes
  • Île-de-France uses a flat 2.50 euro train and metro fare region-wide, so the ride from central Paris costs the same as any metro trip; load tickets on a Navigo Easy card or your phone
  • Eurostar and Thalys arrivals at Gare du Nord can be at the venue in half an hour without changing lines
  • Driving is not worth it: the A1 and A104 around Villepinte jam badly on show mornings and on-site parking fills early

Getting around during SIAL Paris

Getting to Paris Nord Villepinte daily

  • RER B is the only rail link and everyone knows it — trains between 8:30 and 10:00 are packed, so travel before 8:15 if you have morning meetings
  • The station sits directly at the entrance plaza; from train door to badge scan is usually under 10 minutes outside peak crush
  • Ride-hail drop-off works fine in the morning, but at the 18:00 close expect long queues and surge pricing — many attendees ride the RER two stops to CDG and pick up a taxi there
  • The halls are numbered along one enormous axis; allow 15-20 minutes to walk end to end when planning back-to-back stand meetings

Around Paris

  • A Navigo Easy card (sold at any station) or the Île-de-France Mobilités app covers metro, RER, tram and bus at the flat 2.50 euro rail fare; airport-station journeys cost more
  • Licensed G7 taxis can be booked by app and are plentiful at mainline stations, though evening traffic near Gare du Nord is slow
  • October is shoulder season, so central Paris restaurants still need booking during SIAL week — the food industry fills them
  • If you stay near CDG, note the RER B stops running around midnight; late dinners in the city need a taxi budget back

Visa & entry

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Citizens of around 60 countries — including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, the UAE and most of Latin America — enter France visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period
  • All visa-free visitors are now registered biometrically under the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) at the border, so allow extra time on first entry
  • The ETIAS pre-travel authorisation is due to begin in late 2026 with a transitional grace period — check its status shortly before travelling for SIAL

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of China, India, South Africa, Turkey, and most of Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia need a short-stay Schengen (type C) visa before travel
  • Apply through France-Visas and the local visa centre (TLScontact or VFS); appointments in peak months can take weeks, and applications open up to six months before travel
  • A business-purpose application is strengthened by your SIAL badge confirmation or an exhibitor invitation letter

Documents to carry

  • Passport valid at least three months beyond your departure from the Schengen area and issued within the last ten years
  • SIAL registration or badge confirmation, plus any invitation letter from an exhibitor or the organiser
  • Proof of accommodation and a return or onward ticket — border officers can ask for both even from visa-free travellers

Entry rules change frequently; confirm current requirements with the French embassy or the official France-Visas portal before booking.

First time at SIAL Paris?

  • Register and download your badge before you fly — the online badge desk closes to new registrations during the show's busiest days and on-site queues are slow
  • SIAL opens on a Saturday; arriving Friday gets you settled before the weekend rush, and Saturday itself is one of the heaviest days
  • Plan your route by sector before arriving — the halls run in one long line and doubling back between distant halls wastes an hour each time
  • The SIAL Innovation area sells out attention fast; go early on day one or two to see finalist products before the crowds
  • Hotels within walking distance are almost non-existent — book on the RER B corridor (Roissy, Villepinte, Le Bourget or Gare du Nord) rather than a charming but distant arrondissement

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • The final day (Wednesday) is noticeably quieter and senior exhibitor staff have time to talk, though some stands begin packing after lunch
  • Real deal-making happens at evening dinners in central Paris, not on the show floor — staying near Gare du Nord keeps you 30 minutes from both
  • Eating your way around exhibitor tastings is a genuine lunch strategy, but the sit-down restaurants inside the halls queue badly from 12:30 — eat at 11:45 or after 14:00
  • Buy a carnet of tickets on a Navigo Easy card on arrival at CDG so you never queue at Parc des Expositions machines with everyone else

SIAL Paris travel FAQs

When is SIAL Paris 2026?

SIAL Paris takes place 17 Oct to 21 Oct 2026 at Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris, France.

Where is SIAL Paris held?

SIAL Paris is held at Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris, France. The nearest airport is CDG.

Where should I stay for SIAL Paris?

The practical choices are the Roissy/CDG hotel cluster (10 minutes from the venue by RER B or taxi), Le Bourget and Villepinte for mid-range options, or central Paris near an RER B station such as Gare du Nord or Châtelet if you want restaurants and evening meetings. Anything requiring a metro-plus-RER change adds real time in show-week crowds.

How much do hotels cost during SIAL Paris?

Expect rates around the venue and at CDG to run two to three times normal October levels, and central Paris also firms up because SIAL overlaps the autumn conference season. The closest properties sell out first rather than getting cheaper.

How early should I book hotels for SIAL?

Six to nine months ahead is sensible for venue-adjacent hotels; regular attendees book the CDG cluster almost a year out. Booking a free-cancellation rate early and refining later beats waiting for certainty.

Which airport do I fly into for SIAL Paris?

Charles de Gaulle (CDG) — the venue is effectively next door, two RER B stops away. Orly works if fares are much better, but you will cross the whole city; allow at least 75-90 minutes to Villepinte.

Is SIAL Paris open to the public?

No, it is strictly a trade show. Registration requires proof of professional activity in food, drink, retail, foodservice or a related sector, and badges are checked against ID at entry.

No. There is no interest and no extra charge. Your plan total is exactly the hotel price shown when you book. The only fee we ever charge is a processing fee on cash refunds (see 'What fees apply?').

How many payments can I make?

Depending on how far away your trip is, you can split your booking into between 2 and 16 weekly payments. The exact schedule is shown before you book.

What happens after I pay my deposit?

Your hotel is booked and confirmed immediately. You receive your booking confirmation and your full payment schedule by email, and the remaining payments are charged automatically each week.

How are the weekly payments taken?

Automatically. After your first payment, each weekly payment is charged to your saved card, and we send you a reminder 2 days before every charge. In a few countries where automatic card charges are not allowed, we email you a secure payment link each week instead. You can switch to a different card at any time.

Can I pay early?

Yes. Sign in to your Event Escapes account at any time and pay off your remaining balance in one payment, whenever it suits you. There is never a fee for paying early.
