About the Austrian Grand Prix

The Styrian mountains, a short and furious lap, and a crowd that turns the hillsides orange. The Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring is one of the best-value races on the 2027 calendar — and 2027 tickets are already on sale from the circuit itself.

At 4.318 km and ten corners, the Red Bull Ring produces one of the shortest laps in F1 — which packs the field together and keeps the action constant. The lap climbs steeply to Turn 3, the best overtaking spot, then flows downhill through the fast final sector. The natural amphitheatre setting means general admission hillsides overlook most of the lap, one reason Austria is consistently rated among the best races to attend as a fan.

Insider tips for the Austrian Grand Prix

GA at the Red Bull Ring is genuinely excellent — the hillside banks see most of the lap. Pair GA with one grandstand day if you are splitting the weekend.
Child tickets are €36 on most grandstands — this is one of the most family-friendly races on the calendar.
The 3 Corner Hopping tickets rotate you through three different stands across the weekend — a fun way to see the whole track.
July in the mountains means hot sun and possible afternoon storms; pack for both.

Getting there & where to stay

Transport

The Red Bull Ring is near Spielberg in Styria, about 70 km from Graz and 200 km from Vienna. Most international visitors fly to Vienna or Graz, then take the train to Knittelfeld with shuttle buses to the circuit on race weekend. Driving is common — the circuit sits near the S36 — but Sunday traffic is heavy. Trackside camping is a huge part of the Austrian GP culture.
