The home of Formula 1. Silverstone hosted the very first world championship race in 1950, and the 2027 British Grand Prix runs 1–4 July as a four-day festival — Sprint weekend, an opening concert headlined by Robbie Williams, and the biggest, loudest crowd of the European season.
The 5.891 km former airfield is one of the fastest circuits in F1: Copse, Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel form a high-speed sequence drivers describe as the best corner combination in the sport, and the Hangar Straight into Stowe remains the classic overtaking move. The new-look final sector around Club corner and the Wing pit complex puts the finish in front of huge grandstands. Silverstone’s flat, open farmland setting means big screens matter — the circuit is vast.

Silverstone sells tickets in stages: Amex presale on Monday 21 September 2026, camping-and-glamping priority on 23 September, then general sale on Thursday 24 September 2026 at 10am. The race is close to a sell-out every year, and Sunday grandstands go first.

Silverstone sits on the Northamptonshire–Buckinghamshire border, between Milton Keynes and Oxford. The official park-and-ride network runs from sites across the region and is the smoothest way in; driving means booked parking and long post-race queues. Trains run to Milton Keynes, Northampton and Banbury with onward shuttle buses. Many fans camp — the official campsite includes early ticket access.
