Full detailAbout the Hungarian Grand Prix
The last race before the summer break, in one of Europe’s great party cities. The Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring has been on the calendar since 1986, and 2027 tickets are already on sale — with general admission among the cheapest of the entire season.
The 4.381 km Hungaroring is tight, twisty and often called “Monaco without the walls”: fourteen corners with barely a straight between them means overtaking is hard work and qualifying position is gold. The natural bowl setting is the payoff for spectators — from the grandstands on the main straight and the surrounding banks you can see much of the lap. Expect serious heat: late July in Hungary regularly tops 30°C.

- Hungary is the best-value grandstand weekend in Europe — if you want reserved seats on a budget, this is the race.
- The heat is real: shade, water and sun protection are survival gear, not accessories. Grandstands on the main straight get the sun all afternoon.
- Overtaking is scarce — Saturday qualifying is where the weekend is decided, and it is the cheapest day to attend.
- Pair the race with Budapest itself: thermal baths, the castle district and the ruin bars make this a proper city break.

The Hungaroring is at Mogyoród, about 20 km northeast of Budapest. On race weekend, HÉV suburban trains run to Mogyoród with shuttles or a walk to the gates, and the promoter lays on buses from central Budapest. Driving means the M3 motorway and heavy Sunday queues. Taxis and rideshares surge hard after the race — the HÉV is the fan-proven route.
