The fastest street circuit in the world, wrapped around a medieval old town on the Caspian Sea. Baku has never produced a boring race — the 2.2 km full-throttle main straight and the castle-section squeeze guarantee drama — and it remains one of the best-value city races to attend.
The 6.003 km Baku City Circuit is a track of two halves: the tight, technical old-town section where cars squeeze past the 12th-century city walls at Turn 8 — the narrowest corner in F1 — and the absurdly long main straight along the Caspian promenade, where cars run flat-out for over two kilometres and slipstreaming battles rage into Turn 1. Safety cars are a Baku tradition; expect the unexpected.

The circuit loops around Baku’s city centre, so the race comes to you: most central hotels are walking distance from the gates. Heydar Aliyev International Airport is 25 km east, with express buses and cheap taxis to the centre. The Boulevard along the Caspian is the main pedestrian spine between zones — allow time, as street circuits involve long walks around closed roads.
