Full detailAbout Alamodome
The Alamodome seating capacity is 62,834 for football and soccer, according to the venue's official configuration maps, rising to 71,296 for a full-stadium show in the round and 56,016 for a concert with the stage at the south end. It is home to UTSA Roadrunners football and the Valero Alamo Bowl. The Alamodome seating chart has three seating levels: the Plaza Level lower bowl (sections 101 to 144), the Club Level (201 to 244) and the Upper Level (301 to 348). For football the best seats are Plaza Level sidelines either side of the 50-yard line (sections 134 on the west side and 112 on the east side), and the best value is the Upper Level sideline around 337 and 313. The Alamodome seat map is set out as a rectangle, so sideline seats run parallel to the field and end-zone seats look straight down it, and the roof means no seat is exposed to the Texas sun or rain.
The Alamodome is a rectangular, five-level domed stadium on the south-eastern edge of downtown San Antonio. It opened on 15 May 1993 at a cost of $186 million, was designed by HOK Sport with Marmon Mok, and is owned by the City of San Antonio. The roof keeps every seat indoors, and the building was designed to switch from a full football stadium to a smaller arena layout, which is why it hosts everything from college football and NCAA Final Fours to boxing, monster trucks, marching band contests and stadium concerts.

What is the Alamodome seating capacity?
The Alamodome seating capacity is about 62,834 seats. The number in use changes with the layout, so here is how each set-up works.
Football and soccer (UTSA, Valero Alamo Bowl)
The full stadium seats 62,834 for football or soccer. UTSA's own seating chart shows only the Plaza and Club levels, with the UTSA bench on the east side in front of sections 107 to 117 below the press box.
Concerts: south end stage
The official full-stadium end-stage layout seats 56,016, with the stage at the south end. The venue lists 11,064 on the floor, 4,154 on the Club Level and 20,076 on the Upper Level, with the rest in the Plaza Level.
Concerts and events in the round
With a central stage, the official full-stadium in-the-round layout seats 71,296, including 9,252 on the floor, 6,202 on the Club Level and 27,605 on the Upper Level.
Arena layouts (boxing, basketball)
Smaller arena layouts use part of the bowl: the official arena boxing layout seats 35,562 and the modified arena boxing layout 29,264. For NCAA Final Fours a centre-court layout opens the whole stadium; the Spurs set an NBA regular-season record of 68,323 here in 2023.
What are the seating levels at Alamodome?
Plaza Level (lower bowl)101-144
The lower bowl round the field. The west sideline runs from 129 to 139 with 134 at the 50-yard line, the east sideline from 107 to 117 with 112 at the 50, the south end zone from 118 to 128, and the north end zone from 140 to 144 and 101 to 106. Sideline sections run from row 1 at the front to row 35 at the back.
Pros: Closest seats to the field, with a large choice of sideline seats either side of the 50.
Cons: The front rows are low, so end-zone and corner seats look across the field at a flat angle.
Club Level201-244 (plus 205A, 218B, 227C and 240D)
A shallow middle tier: the official chart shows six rows on the sidelines and six to eight rows round the ends and corners. The press box takes the middle of the east side between 210 and 214, so the west side (229 to 239) holds the centre sideline club seats.
Pros: A raised view with few rows in front of you, and quick access to the concourse.
Cons: Premium pricing, and the press box interrupts the east-side sideline.
Upper Level301-348
The highest tier, with 28 rows. The west sideline runs from 330 to 343 (337 at the 50), the east sideline from 306 to 319 (313 at the 50), the south end from 320 to 329 and the north end from 344 to 348 and 301 to 305.
Pros: The cheapest seats, with a complete view of the field and plays developing.
Cons: The furthest seats from the action, especially in the end-zone corners. UTSA's standard chart does not include the Upper Level.
Alamodome view from your seat
Plaza Level west sideline
129 to 139 (50-yard line at 134)Low sideline seats facing the east side and the press box, with the 50-yard line in front of section 134. Rows climb from 1 at the front to 35 at the back.
Tip: A row in the teens or twenties gives enough height to see across the field without being far back.
Plaza Level east sideline
107 to 117 (50-yard line at 112)The mirror of the west side, with the press box and Club Level above you. At UTSA games the Roadrunners' bench is on this side.
Tip: Pick 110 to 114 for UTSA games to sit right behind the home bench near midfield.
Plaza Level end zones
South 118 to 128; north 140 to 144 and 101 to 106End-on views straight down the field. The centre end-zone sections have front rows marked AA on the official chart, with rows rising to 35 behind.
Tip: For concerts with a south-end stage, the north end-zone sections face the stage head on.
Club Level sidelines
West 229 to 239; east 207 to 210 and 214 to 217 either side of the press boxJust six rows deep, so every seat is close to the front, with a raised view of the whole field.
Tip: The west side (around 234 and 235) is the centre of the club sideline, as the press box takes the middle of the east side.
Club Level corners and ends
South 218 to 228; north 240 to 244 and 201 to 206Short sections of six to eight rows wrapping the corners and ends, looking along the field from above the Plaza Level.
Tip: Several club corner sections have wheelchair spaces marked on the official chart.
Upper Level sidelines
West 330 to 343 (337 at the 50); east 306 to 319 (313 at the 50)High sideline seats with a full view of the field. Rows run from 1 at the front to 28 at the back.
Tip: Stay near 337 or 313 and in the lower rows for the best value view.
Upper Level ends
South 320 to 329; north 344 to 348 and 301 to 305The most distant seats in the stadium, looking down the length of the field from above each end zone.
Tip: Good for budget tickets at big concerts in the round, when every side faces the central stage.
How do Alamodome seat numbers work?
Alamodome section numbers tell you the level: 101 to 144 is the Plaza Level, 201 to 244 the Club Level and 301 to 348 the Upper Level. A few club corner sections carry a letter (205A, 218B, 227C and 240D). On the official football chart the numbers run round the bowl so that 112 and 134 sit at the 50-yard line on the east and west sides, and 313 and 337 at the 50 on the Upper Level. Rows are numbered from 1 at the front: up to 35 on the Plaza Level sidelines, 6 on the Club Level sidelines, 6 to 8 round the club corners and ends, and 28 on the Upper Level. The centre end-zone sections on the Plaza Level have a front row marked AA.
Reading a ticket: Section 337, Row 12: the 3 means the Upper Level. Section 337 is on the west sideline at the 50-yard line, and Row 12 is twelve rows up from the front of the Upper Level, which has 28 rows.
Alamodome floor plan for concerts
The Alamodome publishes two full-stadium concert layouts: a south end stage for 56,016 and a central stage in the round for 71,296. Each show sets its own map, so always check the Alamodome seat map for your concert.
The floor: The field becomes the floor: 11,064 seats in the south end stage layout and 9,252 in the round, depending on the production.
The stage: At the south end, in front of Plaza Level sections 118 to 128, in the standard end-stage layout.
With a south-end stage, the north end-zone sections (140 to 144 and 101 to 106 on the Plaza Level, and 344 to 348 and 301 to 305 upstairs) face it head on, while the sidelines see it side on. The lower total for the end-stage layout reflects seats round the stage end that are not used.
