Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning are for accredited professionals; from 15:00 on Friday 5 March until the close on Sunday the fair is open to the general public as well. The organiser reports that the 2026 edition drew 95,000 visitors, around 40,000 of them art professionals, with 211 galleries from 30 countries and the work of about 1,300 artists. For 2027 the curated project ARCO2046 returns across two spaces, alongside the General Programme, Opening (new galleries) and Profiles, the section devoted to Latin American art. • Metro line 8 (Nuevos Ministerios to Aeropuerto T4) stops at Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 and Aeropuerto T4, and its Feria de Madrid station exits opposite IFEMA's South entrance

  • Official taxis charge a flat 33 euros between the airport and anywhere inside the M-30 ring road; IFEMA lies outside it, where Aena sets a 22 euro minimum fare for trips under 9 kilometres, and IFEMA adds a 3 euro supplement to enter or leave the fairground

By rail and road

  • Long distance and high-speed trains arrive at Atocha, which IFEMA notes has Metro, Cercanías and taxi connections
  • Cercanías line C1 runs between Príncipe Pío, Atocha, Chamartín and Airport T4, and Aena says the trip is free for AVE ticket holders connecting with a flight
  • IFEMA says Cercanías RENFE connects directly with Metro line 8, the line that serves the fairground
  • By car, IFEMA is reached from the M-11 (exits 5 and 7), the M-40 (exits 5, 6 and 7) and the A-2 (exit 7); the Recinto Ferial car parks charge 2.95 euros an hour, with a 21 euro maximum

  • ARCOmadrid's address is IFEMA MADRID, Recinto Ferial, Av. Partenón 5, 28042 Madrid; the fair uses Halls 7 and 9

Where to stay for ARCOmadrid

  • Campo de las Naciones, the business district around IFEMA, is the closest base for professionals with an early start on the preview days

Do you need a visa for ARCOmadrid?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Spain is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Spain's consulates or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
  • IFEMA says exhibitors request visa support letters through Expo Zone, and visitors can ask IFEMA's customer service for one

  • Opening hours for 2027: Wednesday 3 March 10:00 to 20:00, Thursday 4 March 12:00 to 20:00, Friday 5 and Saturday 6 March 12:00 to 20:00, and Sunday 7 March 12:00 to 18:00

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • If you are coming as a member of the public, Friday afternoon is the first public session, so a Thursday or Friday arrival is enough

  • Hall 9 shares the North Gate cloakroom with Hall 10, while the Metro exit faces the South entrance, so agree which gate to meet at
