Motortec, the trade fair for the automotive aftermarket that IFEMA MADRID calls the leading one in Southern Europe, returns to IFEMA Madrid from Wednesday 7 to Saturday 10 April 2027. It is a professional event: entry is only for sector professionals who register, so this is a trip for exhibitors, workshop owners, distributors, buying groups and their teams. The 17th edition, in April 2025, drew 65,514 professionals from 80 countries and 710 exhibiting companies across 100,000 square metres, including 34,067 workshop professionals and 5,831 international visitors. For 2027 the organiser expects about 725 exhibitors, with themes running from workshop digitalisation and artificial intelligence to electrification, fleets and predictive maintenance, plus the Innovation Gallery, mechanics competitions and around 260 conference sessions. IFEMA sits on Metro line 8 between Barajas airport and Nuevos Ministerios, so Motortec hotels are easiest in Campo de las Naciones and Barajas near the fairground, or along line 8 towards the Castellana and the centre. How do you get to Motortec Madrid?
From Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD)
- IFEMA says Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport is just ten minutes from the fairground and 12 kilometres from the city centre
- Metro line 8 (Nuevos Ministerios to Aeropuerto T4) stops at Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 and Aeropuerto T4, and its Feria de Madrid station exits opposite IFEMA's South entrance
- Aena lists line 8 hours as 06:05 to 02:00 every day; a single ticket to or from the airport stations carries a 3 euro airport supplement
- Official taxis charge a flat 33 euros between the airport and anywhere inside the M-30 ring road; IFEMA lies outside it, where Aena sets a 22 euro minimum fare for trips under 9 kilometres, and IFEMA adds a 3 euro supplement to enter or leave the fairground
By rail and road
- Long distance and high-speed trains arrive at Atocha, which IFEMA notes has Metro, Cercanías and taxi connections
- Cercanías line C1 runs between Príncipe Pío, Atocha, Chamartín and Airport T4, and Aena says the trip is free for AVE ticket holders connecting with a flight
- By car, IFEMA is reached from the M-11 (exits 5 and 7), the M-40 (exits 5, 6 and 7) and the A-2 (exit 7), and the South, North and East entrances lead straight to the car parks
- The Recinto Ferial car parks charge 2.95 euros an hour, or 15 euros a day if you choose the prepaid rate in your first hour, with a 21 euro maximum
How do you get around during Motortec Madrid?
Getting to IFEMA for Motortec
- Metro line 8 to Feria de Madrid is the main public transport link; from the centre, change to line 8 at Nuevos Ministerios, where it starts
- IFEMA says Cercanías RENFE connects directly with Metro line 8, useful if you stay near a Cercanías station
- City buses 73 (from Diego de León), 112 (Mar de Cristal to Barrio del Aeropuerto) and 122 (from Avenida de América) serve IFEMA, as does intercity bus 828
- IFEMA has taxi ranks at its South, North and East entrances; check your hall on the exhibitor map and agree a gate before you meet colleagues
Where to stay for Motortec
- Campo de las Naciones, the business district around IFEMA, is the closest base for exhibitors on long stand days
- Barajas suits a short trip with an early or late flight, as the airport and IFEMA are on the same Metro line

Do you need a visa for Motortec Madrid?

- Spain is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
- Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
- Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
- ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly
eVisa / visa required
- Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Spain's consulates or their appointed visa centres
- Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
- IFEMA says exhibitors request visa support letters through Expo Zone once their exhibitor passes are personalised and payments are up to date; visitors can ask IFEMA's customer service for one
Documents to carry
- A passport issued within the last ten years and valid for at least three months after you plan to leave the Schengen Area
- Your Motortec professional pass and your hotel booking
- A letter from your employer explaining the business purpose of the trip, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

- Motortec is for sector professionals only; IFEMA says professional registration opens closer to the show, and each person registers with their own IFEMA MADRID account and email
- If an exhibitor sends you an invitation code, enter it in the third step of professional registration
- IFEMA's general rule for professional fairs is that minors may attend but it is not recommended, and anyone over 16 must complete and pay for professional registration
- Cloakrooms at the hall entrances open 30 minutes before the fair and close an hour after it ends, and take suitcases, so you can come straight from the hotel on your last day

- Saturday closes at 14:00, so if you fly out that day an afternoon flight from Barajas is realistic
