FISIOEXPO, the professional physiotherapy trade show for Spain and Portugal, returns to IFEMA Madrid from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 November 2027. Over three days it combines a commercial exhibition of more than 10,000 square metres with over 170 exhibitors and more than 150 workshops, MasterClasses and clinical case sessions, plus the FisioTalks stage, and the organiser puts its audience at more than 8,000 professionals. Exhibitors show intervention devices, assessment tools and services, often with live demonstrations, to physiotherapists from Spain, Portugal and the rest of Europe. Note the move: the 2026 edition ran in late September, while 2027 is in early November. IFEMA is in the north east of Madrid, on Metro line 8 and about ten minutes from Madrid-Barajas Airport, so for FISIOEXPO hotels the choice is between Campo de las Naciones next to the fairground, Barajas near the airport, the Castellana business district at the start of line 8, and the city centre. This page shows live hotel rates near IFEMA Madrid for your dates; FISIOEXPO passes are sold by the organiser and are separate from your hotel booking.

How do you get to FISIOEXPO?

From Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD)

  • IFEMA says Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport is just ten minutes from the fairground and 12 kilometres from the city centre
  • Metro line 8 (Nuevos Ministerios to Aeropuerto T4) connects the airport terminals with the fairground, and IFEMA says the station exit is opposite its South entrance
  • Aena lists line 8 hours as 06:05 to 02:00 every day; a single ticket to or from the airport stations carries a 3 euro airport supplement
  • Official taxis charge a flat 33 euros between the airport and anywhere inside the M-30 ring road; IFEMA lies outside it, where Aena sets a 22 euro minimum fare for trips under 9 kilometres, and IFEMA adds a 3 euro supplement to enter or leave the fairground

By rail and road

  • Long distance and high speed trains arrive at Atocha, which IFEMA notes has Metro and taxi connections
  • IFEMA says Cercanías RENFE connects directly with Metro line 8, the line that serves the fairground
  • By car, IFEMA is reached from the M-11 (exits 5 and 7), the M-40 (exits 5, 6 and 7) and the A-2 (exit 7); FISIOEXPO tells drivers and taxi users to use the North entrance
  • IFEMA says some accesses and routes around the fairground may differ from usual while it improves the site, so check its updated map before you travel

How do you get around during FISIOEXPO?

Getting to IFEMA for FISIOEXPO

  • FISIOEXPO asks visitors arriving by Metro or bus to use the South entrance, and those coming by car or taxi to use the North entrance
  • Metro line 8 is the main public transport link; from the centre, change to line 8 at Nuevos Ministerios, where it starts
  • City buses 73 (from Diego de León), 112 (Mar de Cristal to Barrio del Aeropuerto) and 122 (from Avenida de América) serve IFEMA, as does intercity bus 828
  • The 2026 show was in Pavilion 8, IFEMA Madrid, Av. del Partenón 5; check the 2027 hall on the organiser's site closer to the date

Where to stay for FISIOEXPO

  • Campo de las Naciones, the business district around IFEMA, is the closest base for exhibitors and for anyone booked into early workshops
  • Barajas suits a short trip with an early or late flight, as the airport and IFEMA are on the same Metro line
  • Hotels near Nuevos Ministerios and along the Castellana put you at the start of line 8, so the ride to IFEMA needs no change
  • The city centre suits a weekend visit with evenings out in Madrid, with a change to line 8 at Nuevos Ministerios

Do you need a visa for FISIOEXPO?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Spain is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Spain's consulates or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
  • If you need a letter for your application, ask the FISIOEXPO organiser through its contact form after you buy your pass, and apply as early as you can

Documents to carry

  • A passport issued within the last ten years and valid for at least three months after you plan to leave the Schengen Area
  • Your FISIOEXPO pass and your hotel booking
  • Proof of your professional status if your pass asks for it, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the Spanish embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.

First time at FISIOEXPO?

  • FISIOEXPO describes itself as a 100% professional event, so it is for physiotherapy professionals and the industry rather than the general public
  • Passes cover all three days; in 2026 the organiser sold an Essential pass at 9 euros (exhibition and FisioTalks) and an Advanced pass at 29 euros (adding workshops, MasterClasses, FisioHub and the management talks). 2027 prices were not yet published when we checked
  • Workshops and MasterClasses are part of the Advanced pass, so pick your sessions from the programme early if you are travelling mainly for training
  • In 2026 the show opened 10:00 to 19:00 on Friday and Saturday and 10:00 to 13:30 on Sunday; check the 2027 hours on the organiser's site
  • The organiser's site is in Spanish, with English and Portuguese versions of the main pages, so check each session's language in the programme if you do not speak Spanish

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • Sunday closes at 13:30, so a Friday and Saturday night stay usually covers the whole show, with time to catch an afternoon flight on Sunday
  • Saturday is the busiest day for a weekend show with clinic owners and practitioners off work, so if you are exhibiting, book your Friday and Saturday nights early
  • IFEMA lists FISIOEXPO as a show it hosts but does not organise; the organiser runs its own pass sales and VIP Buyer programme, so use the organiser's site for tickets and buyer questions
