How do you get to The Battery Show Europe?
From Stuttgart Airport (STR)
- The organiser says the Messe is adjacent to the airport and a 3 minute walk to Entrance East, the entrance named for the show
- Messe Stuttgart says the airport connects Stuttgart directly to 123 short and long haul destinations in 30 countries
- The organiser notes that British Airways stopped direct flights from London Heathrow to Stuttgart from March 2026, leaving Eurowings as the only direct service on that route
- As an alternative, the organiser suggests flying from Heathrow to Frankfurt (FRA) and taking the train to Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof, about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours
By rail and road
- Stuttgart is on the ICE high speed network; Messe Stuttgart says Paris and Zurich are about three hours away by train
- From Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof, S-Bahn lines S2 and S3 run direct to Airport and Fair in 27 minutes, and the stop is about 200 metres, or an 8 minute walk, from the fair entrance
- By car, the A8 runs right next to the Messe; the organiser points visitors to the Bosch car park (P20/P21) for Entrance East, with more parking under the Messepiazza (P22/P23), at Entrance West (P26) and at the airport
- Stuttgart city is a low emission zone that needs a green sticker; the organiser says you do not need one for the Messe, which is outside the zone, but you do if you drive into the city or stay there overnight
How do you get around during The Battery Show Europe?
Getting to the halls each day
- All attendee badges include free VVS public transport during the event: show your badge on trains, trams and buses as your ticket
- Expo hours are 09:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 June and 09:00 to 15:00 on Thursday 24 June 2027; conference sessions start from 09:15
- Stadtbahn line U6 ends at the Messepiazza, a 6 minute walk from Entrance East, with an extra fair stop at Entrance West
- Taxi ranks are at the East and West Entrances, and Messe Stuttgart says shuttle bus access is right in front of the entrances
Airport and fair, Möhringen or the city centre?
- Hotels in the Messe and airport cluster keep the halls close, which suits a three day show with early starts
- Möhringen lies between the city centre and the fair, on the south side of Stuttgart
- Stuttgart-Mitte and the Hauptbahnhof area have the widest choice of hotels and restaurants, 27 minutes from the fair on the S2 or S3, and your badge covers the trip
- The organiser offers a free StuttCard for each show day you attend, with access to museums, attractions and city discounts, and recommends Stuttgart's two car museums after the show
Do you need a visa for The Battery Show Europe?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- Germany is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
- The German Federal Foreign Office lists citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries as needing no visa for stays of up to 90 days in any 180 day period
- Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
- ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; check before you fly
eVisa / visa required
- Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through German missions or their appointed visa centres
- Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
- The organiser issues visa invitation letters online: register for the show, then use the registration key from your confirmation email on the visitor or exhibitor letter page. It does not issue signed or stamped letters

- A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
- Your registration QR code, which you swap for a printed badge at the registration desk on site
- Your visa invitation letter if you used one, plus your hotel booking, return travel details and travel medical insurance

- The show is for industry professionals: nobody under 16 is permitted in the expo halls or conference rooms, and there is no childcare on site
- After registering you receive a QR code to collect a printed badge at the registration desk, and badge corrections and replacements are free
- The 2026 edition shared the halls with Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo Europe and the Energy Storage Summit, across five halls, so plan meetings in the organiser's show planner before you arrive
Insider tips from repeat attendees
- The organiser offers group discounts on the Leader conference pass, 10 percent for 3 to 5 people, 20 percent for 6 to 9 and 25 percent for 10 or more, with payment by invoice
- There are only six electric vehicle charging points in front of Entrance East and the organiser warns demand is high, so do not count on charging at the fair; the cloakroom costs €2 per item
- The organiser's official housing bureau is bnetwork, and its scams page warns about hotel offers from other companies that contact exhibitors.
