The WindEurope Annual Event, the yearly wind energy conference and exhibition run by WindEurope, the association of Europe's wind industry, comes to Bella Center Copenhagen from Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 April 2027. The event moves between European cities, and after Madrid in 2026 it returns to Denmark. The organiser expects more than 16,000 participants and over 500 exhibitors across the three days; the 2026 edition in Madrid drew more than 15,000 participants and 624 exhibitors. It brings together exhibitors from across the wind value chain and speakers from government and industry, with a conference covering onshore and offshore wind from turbine design to recycling. It is a different event from WindEnergy Hamburg, the trade fair held in Hamburg. Bella Center sits in Ørestad with its own metro station on line M1, and the AC Hotel Bella Sky is directly connected to it. How do you get to WindEurope Annual Event?
From Copenhagen Airport (CPH)
- Bella Center says it is 7 minutes from the airport by car
- By metro, the airport station is at the end of Terminal 3 on line M2; take M2 towards Vanløse and change to M1 towards Vestamager at Christianshavn, which both lines serve, then ride to Bella Center
- Buy your metro ticket before you board: the airport says ticket machines take coins and cards but not notes, and you cannot buy tickets on the train
- Check exact journeys and departure times on Rejseplanen (rejseplanen.dk), which both the venue and the airport recommend
Arriving by rail and road
- Line M1 connects with regional trains at Ørestad, the next stop after Bella Center, and with S-trains at Nørreport, Flintholm and Vanløse
- InterCity trains run from the airport to Copenhagen city centre, and there are trains between the airport and Malmö in Sweden
- Bella Center has 1,700 parking spaces on site, and the organiser points drivers to the Bellakvarter car parks run by APCOA
- For your flight home, the airport recommends arriving two hours before Schengen flights and three hours before other flights at busy times

- The Bella Center metro station on line M1 is right next to the conference centre, according to the metro company
- M1 runs about every 2 minutes in the rush hours (07:00 to 09:00 and 14:00 to 18:00) and about every 3 minutes at other times during the day and evening
- Bella Center puts central Copenhagen 10 minutes away by metro, so hotels in the city centre are a practical base
- The AC Hotel Bella Sky is directly connected to Bella Center, and the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers is nearby in Ørestad

- Registration desks open at 07:30 each day; the exhibition is open 09:00 to 18:00 on 20 and 21 April and 09:00 to 16:00 on 22 April
- The conference runs from 09:00 to 17:30 on Tuesday, 09:00 to 18:00 on Wednesday and 09:15 to 15:00 on Thursday
- The official Opening Reception is on Tuesday 20 April from 18:00 to 20:00 in the exhibition hall
- Kongens Nytorv, on M1, is where you change to M3 and M4 for the rest of the city in the evening
Do you need a visa for WindEurope Annual Event?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- Denmark is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
- Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
- Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
- ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly
eVisa / visa required
- Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Danish missions or the visa centres they appoint
- Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
- In 2026 registered participants could generate a visa letter in the organiser's Registration Guest Portal; registration for 2027 opens in December 2026, so register early if you need one
Documents to carry
- A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
- Your WindEurope registration confirmation and badge, your hotel booking and return travel details
- A letter from your employer setting out the business purpose of the trip, plus copies of your visa documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

First time at WindEurope Annual Event?
- Registration for 2027 opens in December 2026 on the organiser's site; a hotel booking with us does not include a pass
- In 2026 there were conference and exhibition passes and cheaper exhibition only passes, for one day or all three, and there was no registration on site, so buy your pass before you travel
- In 2026 badges were emailed a few days before the event and the organiser asked participants to print them to avoid queues
- Students can attend for free and take part in a dedicated student programme, according to the organiser
- The organiser warns about unauthorised companies offering hotel rooms with fake WindEurope credentials; its only official accommodation provider is Kuoni Tumlare. Event Escapes is independent and not affiliated with WindEurope

- The Opening Reception on Tuesday evening is in the exhibition hall, so a hotel in Ørestad or on the M1 line makes the evening easy
- Thursday 22 April is shorter, with the exhibition closing at 16:00 and the conference at 15:00, which leaves time for an evening flight from Copenhagen Airport
